QubicaAMF has announced that the 46th Bowling World Cup will not be held in Zagreb, Croatia, but in Toulon, on the French Riviera, from October 15-24, 2010. Toulon lies on the western end of the Cote d'Azur on the Mediterranean.

The Russian bowlers Alexey Parshukov and Evgenia Tsarkova both finished the 43rd World Cup QubicaAMF in the 23rd place. It was the first time that both Russian participants survived the first cut (top-24).

The Russian bowlers Gennady Sidorov (“Avtoritet”, Moscow) and Alena Korobkova (“Shosse”, Moscow) competed in the 30th European Champions Cup (Luxemburg, September 17-23, 2007) . After qualification games Gennady Sidorov got the 17th position, with total 4772, average 198,83. Alena Korobkova is on 18th place, with total 4445, average 185,2.

Ahead of visit to APEC CEO Summit in Australia president Vladimir Putin visited the town of Viluchinsk on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the country’s Far East. Along with Russia’s first deputy prime minister Sergey Ivanov and defence minister Anatoly Serdukov he paid a visit to the newly built sports center called Ocean and played bowling there.

The company Stroysvyazural-1 (Chelyabinsk, South Urals) is planning to start a huge sports entertainment center development in Saint-Petersburg. The total area of the building will be about 170000 sq. m. The center will have a lot of recreational facilities including 58 bowling lanes.

The host bowling center of European Men’s Championships (02-14 June 2005, Moscow) has been closed at the last days of June 2007. The club which was installed in the famous Moscow’s trading center Atrium, could not afford the high rent fee.

As it was last year, the Russian team came back from the European Youth Championships with the Bronze medal in Masters. Last year Russia’s Evgenia Smirnova won the bronze in the Girls Masters, this time Alexey Vasilenko from Saint-Petersburg did the same in the Boys Masters of EYC-2007 (Thessaloniki, Greece, April 6-15). It’s the first time when Alexey Vasilenko played for the national team of Russia.

The first official bowling event, which was held on the lanes of Bowling Alex club in Moscow, on April 11-12 1998 draw 76 players from 7 cities of Russia. They are Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok. Among the participants there were 57 men and 19 women.

The Qatar Bowling Federation (QBF) has canceled the 2007 World Ranking Masters, to be held in Doha, Qatar, from April 30 through May 6, because the renovation of the Qatar Bowling Center will not be ready in time.

The 43rd Bowling World Cup will be held in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. The Conference of Federation of Sports Bowling of Russia (FSBR) was held on December 15, 2006 in hotel Volga (Moscow). Instead of Iosif Ordzhonididze, who had retired from the position of the FSBR’s President, the delegates of the Conference unanimously voted for the candidature of Aleksandr Gogolev.
